Uses of three-phase induction motors

Three-phase induction motors are widely used in industry and constitute almost all industrial drives where a
nearly constant speed is required, from smallworkshops to the largest industrial enterprises.
Typical applications are with machine tools, pumps and mill motors. The squirrel cage rotor type is the most widely used of all a.c. motors.
