A capacitor is an electronic component or electrical elementary, consisting of two conductive plates (called "electrodes") in total influence and separated by an insulator polarizable (or "dielectric"). Its main property is to store opposite electrical charges on its plates. The absolute value of these charges is proportional to the absolute value of the voltage applied to it. The capacitor is characterized by the coefficient of proportionality between load and voltage called electrical capacitance and expressed in farads (F).
